• Fundamentals of Radiographic Interpretation

This course is designed to familiarize each participant with the fundamentals of cone beam computed tomography technology and radiation risks. What features to consider when purchasing a cone beam CT unit is discussed.

This course is designed to help the clinician understand 3D imaging by correlation both 2D and 3D images of each anatomical region. In addition, how to approach and review a cone beam CT volume is discussed.

The course will discuss the many applications of cone beam CT in dentistry particularly the clinical applications of CBCT in various areas such as implantology, endodontics, surgery, orthodontics, periodontology, and pathology with numerous case examples. Additional areas such as the use of CBCT for airway segmentation and for evaluation of the temporomandibular joints will be discussed.

This course is designed to familiarize the participant with how to interpret a radiographic image particularly a 3D volume as well as the legal responsibilities of the clinician with owning a CBCT. The various categories of disease will be discussed with particular interest in the diagnoses of benign vs. malignant diseases.
